First Aid Matters

First aid training courses for Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire

Suzanne Stickley -
Director & Training Manager

Suzanne spent 8 years working with the London Ambulance Service, before taking a career change into the world of policing, joining The Metropolitan Police.

In 2012, after an accident at home involving her son, she discovered a huge gap in quality First Aid for parents, so decided to qualify as an instructor with the ITG to start a company that bridged that gap. The company has grown and diversifed to incorporate all types of educational courses.

Suzanne also works as a volunteer for South Oxfordshire Ambulance Service (SCAS) whilst running the company and being a mum to her two boisterous boys.

"Having seen many medical emergencies in my career, I have a strong belief that first aid should be made easy to follow and available to everyone." - Suzanne Stickley

Steve is originally from the county of Lancashire, and his medical background consists of 19 years as a serving paramedic with Greater Manchester Ambulance Service.

After leaving the Ambulance Service, Steve went to work for the local Wildlife Trust as a Reserve Officer, but he kept up his skills by being the lead first aider whilst he worked at the Brockholes Wildlife Reserve in Preston.

Steve joined First Aid Matters in 2013 after gaining his instructor qualification with ITG. He keeps his skills and knowledge current as an active First Aid Instructor and by taking on medic work in the TV and Film industry; he has worked on many productions to date.
